Help Weird issue, can't add memo to calendar

Although this phone is fairly new to me and I'm still getting used to it, I have noticed something strange. I tried to add an event to the calendar, and while the title and the date/time works fine, on the bottom there is an option to add a memo. When I try to add a memo, it simply says: No memos. No option to add a new one.

you have to open memo make a new memo. then in calendar you attach the memo. kinda sucks but that's how it works for now.
