Root Weird keyboard settings

Dayquil

Newbie
So I bought the Swiftkey app couple weeks ago and everytime I reboot the phone, the default keyboard gets reset back to the android one.

I have the ctmod 2.4 for what its worth. Anyone else have this problem at all or am I the only one?

Did that cause any unwanted/unusual problems? Also not entirely sure how to go about that :(
you have a few ways, if using titanium backup you can remove it.
I believe its the latinIME.apk
or using a file explorer you can remove it from /system/app

If I'm not mistaken there is a "freeze" option in titanium backup. Kinda like a test uninstall. Did you try that... might be safer.

Yep there is. With something as vital as a keyboard, I would not uninstall the stock version even if you never use it.

If your favorite keyboard goes haywire you don't want to waste a bunch of time trying to get it back because you have NO keyboard.

Usually, a couple of extra steps to activate or select your keyboard anyway

I never thought about the freeze option >< Gonna give that a try now. Easy enough to unfreeze if it goes haywire

/EDIT
looks like i cant find it in titanium backup. i see it in /system/app but id rather not delete it from there. maybe ill just deal with the minor inconvenience of resetting the keyboard on reboot

You can delete the stock keyboard if you want, it won't cause any problems.

Its LatinIME.apk in /system/app
