Help Weird SD card problems

A

Android Question

Guest
I have a Samsung Galaxy Y and a 8GB microSD card. But this weird issue just started now. I tried to delete some videos from my SD, but after scanning, the files returned. I tried to reformat, both Android and Windows, and it says 'Format Successful' but the only problem: the files returned afterwards! Is my SD card dead? D:

No, I would say that your SD card doesn't want to die. This is an odd one, have you actually tried to play the files? It could be that they are still showing up as thumbnails and/or for some reason may have been copied to internal storage.

The files play fine. Could it be write protection?

EDIT: I've just made a factory reset of the phone, and it successfully formatted the SD card, but it's still deleting files that have been copied over the SD card and bringing back deleted files after restarting. D:

This is weird indeed. I see that you have registered, so welcome to the site :hello:

I'm going to go ahead and move this to the Galaxy Y section and see if you get more help there.

good luck

Glad you got your pr4oblem solved. Really weird still. Usually you cannot get files to show and/or play that you haven't deleted.
