Help weird stand alone charger with sliding contact pins???

Newbie
I ordered three extra batteries from ebay (came from china) that included a stand alone charger. There are two pins in the charger that contact the battery.....but the pins slide left and right / horizontally. Anyone know which flat "plates" on the battery the charging pins should be contacting to charge properly? Thanks!

A picture might help . . .

A photo would help, what you are describing sounds like a piece of trash. Not sure why the pins would move. You may want to contact the manufacturer and see if this is normal.

I am currently out of town and will try to post a picture when I get home tonight. I have never seen anything like this charger. I agree it appears to be a piece of junk. Hopefully the batteries are ok.

I was looking at similar products on ebay and found that there are ones out there that do not have those sliding pins. I found those to be a bit odd.

The battery should have a plus and minus sign close to its corresponding contact points if that helps.

I ordered one of these also and received it today. What a cheap looking POS.

I had ordered the charger and 2 battery combo for my EVO 4G and it was a lot better quality than this. I am not trusting any battery on this charge. I don't even know if I want to put these batteries in the phone. For 12 bucks I'll probably just trash these.

i would recommend getting the other one. i had one for my evo4g and it worked great. I just ordered one for my evo3d and it got here in 3 days. WHen on ebay you can sort by US seller. yes its a 1 or 2 dollars more but its get here much faster and less problems.

here is the sliding one

I got this second one same charger plus 3 batteries for $11. Did the same for my evo. Batteries worked fine, wife still uses them. Although I wouldn't plug your cable into that charger, everytime I did it would "disable" the touch screen for my evo that is. Also I think these batteries are bigger. I'll let you know more once I receive them.

i got them already. i ordered on wednesday they were here by friday. i paid 13 bucks. the work great just like the ones for my evo4g.

I figured out that the charging pins need to contact the first and last charging terminals on the battery. It charges fine and the batteries work great in the EVO 3s. I agree though that the charger is a piece of crap compared to others I have owned.

its a generic charger for similar sized batteries where the contacts on the battery change form manufacturer to manufacturer. i went ahead and grabbed the on2 that has 3 1800mah batteries.. that charger is similar to the old evo charger, of which i had success with.
