Weird Texting Sound

I received a text message sound alert last night. It was around 5 at night, so I know no one text me. Anyways, I checked anyways and there was no text message. Usually when there is an app notification or email, it says on the top corner...but it didn't notify me anything. I checked in the morning and there is no notifications, so I am sure it is not from an app. Where does the sound come from actually? =/ Anyone experiences this before? I know it's not the phone because it didn't happened again and certainly didn't happen before. This is kind of creepy...thanks!

maybe it was an alarm? what phone do you have? was the sound one of your notification sounds?

I am sure it is not an alarm because my alarm is another sound. Also I have am HTC one s. It is not a notification either because nothing appears in the top bar.

weird....i'm not sure then. is it one of the sounds that comes with the phone?

also you can try a logcat app like this one: aLogcat (free) - logcat
this will give you a report of all the processes that the phone goes thru. it should give you a detail of the notification. the trick though is that you will need to do it right after you hear the notification sound. it is to late to use it now, however.

not sure what else to tell you though.....maybe we can move your thread to the HTC One S - Android Forums where folks who have your phone might be able to give you better suggestions then i can.

Yeah, it vibrates and then let out the "content" tone, which is exactly my text done.

'Phone charged' and 'Update available' or 'Update complete' come to mind...
