I agree on all counts. I miss my Ad Free Android the most.this mercury is a badazz phone . especially compared to my ascend(my first smartphone. i have no complaints so far. just wish for an easier root method for us cpu savyless folks!
It's under the settings for wireless & networks. I've read that Cricket has been blocking it for some people, though, so ymmv. Can this phone be used as a wifi hotspot. I read somewhere in one if these forums that this phone is can do it. Is that true and how?

Well, I've been charging for three hours now, and it's still on 90%, which it's been at for an hour now it seems. I think I'm going to go ahead and just boot it up.
I heard they charge extra when its used.
I was just now trying to get on the internet and I got a notice from Cricket saying I was trying to tether and it wouldn't let me get on the internet until I restarted my phone. I wasn't even trying to tether, I'm at work. I've only ever used the tethering for a few minutes to try it out on my PS3. I guess they are trying to charge $10a month according to the page I got stuck on. Does anybody know if that includes any extra data, or does that just come out of the 1GB that doesn't ever last the whole month already? It might be worth $10 if there was some extra data involved. If they just want to charge $10 to let me use the data I already paid for, Cricket can suck it!!!I use the hotspot function frequently and have not been charged extra.

Mine gets pretty hot, I wouldn't say with minimal use. It depends what you're doing, but a single core clocked this fast will put off some heat when it's working hard. That's another reason I don't like using a case. A case holds in more heat, and heat is bad for batteries. Another thing I've noticed is it seems to get hotter when I use it while it's plugged in.I don't know if this is the way the phone works but the back of my phone gets pretty hot after minimal use. Has anybody else experienced this?
Welcome to the forum! Agreed about the Cricket data cap, but at least its still usable after throttling except for streaming video mainly. I've had my Mercury since December, and still liking it. Best of luck with yours!Just bought the Huawei Mercury bout a week ago n LOVE IT! Well worth $250, very pleased. My only complaint is not about tht Mercury but rather with Cricket and their 1 gb data cap, very annoying especially since there is no wifi options where i am n im not about to sit at a mcdonalds to watch some youtube videos. Blah blah blah.... anyways the Huawei Mercury is top of the line, very responsive, great camera and damn decent processor. Huawei M886 Mercury - Full phone specifications
True, but 1 GB is not very much. I would be happy with 2 GB, or at least have the option to pay a little more for more data.People complaining about data throttling, Imagine how slow your phone would get how many dropped or not negotiable calls would happen. If there WERE NO CAPS . its all about protecting the integrity of there NETWORK For all.I wish we all had unlimited data but its not a reality in the real world.. resource management is part of the IT WORLD WELCOME TO IT ..
having some issues with my clocks. the one at the lock screen, and the one at the top in the toolbar, don't want to change time. the lock screen clock will say 12:45, while the clock in the toolbar at the top will say 12:22. and when i unlock the phone, i find that neither of these are right, and that the weather clock on my home screen is right. what is going on??

Welcome to the forums! Good to have you aboard! It sounds like you have some knowledge, hope you stick around!Good day folks! Been lurking quite some time so I figured I'd drop a line. Had the Merc since release day... NOT a bad phone by any means considering it being w/Cricket. I've rooted and running Revokster ROM w/V6_SuperCharger. If you haven't given it a try, I say go for it (considering you know what you're doing) It has made the phone that much better... YMMV
