Well its goodbye from me....

With my Desire dying in the water, and me using my old LG Viewty for the next 5 months, I guess my days on here are finished; I never did get to root :( I havent really been on here much for a while but if any of you guys are still around from my early days, thanks for all your help.

I am so tempted though, to set up another contract; I cant manage for 5 months without android. My contract is really cheap at the moment due to all the complaining I did at the start about weak signal. I only pay about 12 quid a month. 5 months left =

You could pick up a modest Android handset for <£100 if you've got the cash. I'd be tempted to pick up a Wildfire S or keep an eye on eBay for a cheaper handset with 5 months remaining. But that's just me. :p

Do you think I should sit the contract out then? I reckon the sensation would do me.
How long is the new contract? The Sensation is getting on for a year old, so if you take a 2 year contract you have a very old model by the end. It's that rather than how suitable it is now that would concern me.

(Though I think it likely I will be using my Desire when it's that age, so this is a little inconsistent of me :)).

I had looked into a cheap handset to tide me over for the next 5 months, I had been looking to get a replacement Desire. A wilfire would be too small.

I dont want to spend a fortune, thats why I thought a sensation would be ok, You can get them for less than 25 a month now. I wonder if 3 would cut me a deal? Cancel my contract now but take out another with no penilty?

A cheaper option Desire S or HD?

Even older phones... I really don't know what id do but it wouldn't involve those handsets. Even sticking with the viewty is better. I'd probably stick with viewty until the next bunch of releases march April, cancel contract and get the latest and greatest

I was thinking maybe a used desire s? Make it last contract out, then go sim free for 6 months or so to get my moneys worth out of it

My better half wants a cheap smartphone, and we've been looking at the San Francisco 2 ( re branded zte crescent) on orange. Its

I would wait myself as the HTC One X looks one hell of a phone & its due out in Q2 of this year, perfect for when your contract finishes (ideal for mine ending too i might add). Don't jump too soon & have regrets for 2 years.

I jumped ship yesterday after taking delivery of a HTC evo. I didn't want to take another 2 year contract atm so was looking for a bit of a stop gap phone so I took out a 12 month contract with vodafone. With cashback (topcashback) and redemption it's costing me about

OK been looking at wilfire s as a stop gap in town today, will wait for biiger things as regards to a new contract.

I keep seeing used wilfire s handsets saying unlocked to all neyorks (except 3) why is this? I am on 3

The wildfire s has exactly the same specs as the wildfire. Buy a second hand wildfire on ebay for not much more than a loaf of bread
In regards to your question, try the wildfire s forum here ;)

Bread is expensive these days ;)

I will post in there, thanks. I wonder how helpful they are?

My wife lost her xperia last year and I got her Orange San Fran from ebay for £60. Rooted it and put a light Rom. I have to say she made lots of ppl jealous ESP when they heard the price.

I hear the specs ain't really bad for a phone at that price.

Really considering the Orange San Francisco 2 (ZTE Blade 2 or ZTE Crescent depending on the website) for the wife for her first smartphone. She wants a cheap PAYG phone for wifi browsing/ social networks etc.

And in the unlikely event she lets me root and play with it, there is a section for it on the Forums -

which points you at this custom ROM -

Phone is locked to Orange, but if you root as per the above you can put in any sim such as a giff gaff one.

All told, looks pretty good value for money to me for a non power user.

I know this is twice the price but it's still a cracking deal - HTC Evo 3D Android Mobile Phone | O2 | ASDA direct.

I am still unsure of what to do but thinking of buying a used Sensation from CEX and using my 3 contract until it finishes in August. Then getting a Giff Gaff sim only; 250muns, unlimited data and texts for a tenner a month.
