Well, the 23rd is nearly here!

Heading to VZW store tomorrow to buy it, although with the release of 2.1 for the Eris I am again debating which way to go. I just can't keep waiting. Not having email and internet and a bookreader with me at all times is driving me nuts. I will decide on whether to upgrade to N1 or Incredible when the new phones are finally released

Good god, June? I sure hope not- I've been waiting for the Passion/N1 on Verizon since November.

I don't know how much credence to give to his claim that it'll be sold in Verizon stores and not directly from Google- sounds rather far-fetched. Hopefully this guy just doesn't know what he's talking about.

He obviously wasn't talking about the N1... If its not to be sold at google.com, and only from verizon, why does it direct you to google.com/phone when you search for the N1 on verizons website? I bet a release is just around the corner....
 
The only thing can think of is that htc is heavily revising the n1 to fix the buildbquality issues or they are selling it in-store and verizon has the say when it can be released.
 
Ya, can you imagine a big ad campaign leading up to the N1 on VZW.....if it is the same phone everybody else already has? Just wouldn't make sense.....would be like if AT&T started a big ad campaign about this amazing phone called the Motorola Droid.....

So, if the above poster is correct, I would say it's the Incredible, or a revised kind of Nexus 2?
 
Whats up everyone, I've been been reading up on these forums and have been patiently waiting with all of you who want the beautiful Nexus One on VZW. I am currently on T-Mobile and have been for the past three years, originally I was on VZW before this, but at that time they didn't have unlimited text messaging (yes I am old) and I kept going over so I switched to T-Mobile to get unlimited texts. Overall, I am generally happy with T-Mobile and its service. Where I live I get a pretty good connection always, with just a few dropped calls every other month or so. But where VZW takes the cake is when I am on the road traveling with my band and we'll be in the middle of no-where and my bass player will have 5 bars on VZW 3G and ill have 1 bar on T-Mo Edge network. Maybe it's because I am currently not on T-Mobile 3G, but in my opinion, as well with everyone else in here I'm sure we all can agree that T-Mobile's network is not as good as Verizons, which is why I am waiting to get the N1 on Verizon (as apposed to getting the N1 with T/Mo). My friend got the N1 for T-Mobile and I was fooling around on it Monday afternoon and it is incredible how free it is. It is completely unlocked and you can do frankly whatever the hell you want with it. This brings a question to my head though, will VZW's N1 be completely unlocked and Just as customizable as well? Or being under VZW will it be a little tied and restricted down? Because my experience with VZW in the past is I have always noticed how they always have their phones within some sort of control, with their menu layouts, and whatnot. A good example of this was before I switched to T-Mo a few years ago, I had the first generation Razr with Verizon, and I hated all that V-Cast and red and white menus and what not it had on it, because to me, it was just like every other VZW phone at that time (just in the model of a razor, but same menu layout). But being that the N1 is google's baby, and it wont be sold in VZW stores, I think itd be safe to say that it will be just as unlocked as it is now for T-Mobile (and I guess AT&T now). Then Thee question is, When Will This Sucker Come Out!??! It's only been 4 days into spring, so we cant really complain. The google site says "Spring 2010" which means anytime from Now till the end of May. Let's just hope it's sooner than later. :rolleyes:

I'm in a similar boat. Former Verizon customer who switched to T-Mobile because it cost less and I didn't have to get a contract. I get zero to 1 bar in my house and drop calls constantly. If I'm out about town service is ok, but when I travel it's spotty at best. I've been itching to get back on Verizon for their coverage, but I want a new smartphone that isn't the Droid. Hence, my long wait for the N1.

Unless Verizon and Google have some crazy agreement, the N1 on Verizon should be just as unlocked and uncluttered as the T-Mobile and AT&T version- it's Google's phone, after all.

here's what i think, verizon wants people to buy the incredible and the two will released the same day and there is a good chance to get the nexus you'll have to pay full retail.

verizon has the best service but they are a bit of control freaks (cdma) and i think they want people to use a phone they can have more control over.

t-mob, sorry, but worst service but they let you do whatever you want for a phone, first with android, probably only one the get the hd2 and they made it better, you can get an iphone (gsm duh)

i guess what i'm saying is we all are searching and waiting to get disapointed :( and if you don't think i'm right just remember, Verizon had the chance to get the iphone first but passed because they didn't want apple making money with the app store and apple didnt want the verizon logo on the phone

This entirely depends on where you live. TMobile, by far, has the fewest dropped calls in my area, and I've tried them all.
