Wet Phone

except that you aren't drying anything if you freeze it, unless you are gonna keep it frozen, as soon as it melts you are left with the same problem.
.

I slept through physics, so I probably have the terminology wrong, but it did work. The woman who told me about it had knocked her iphone into her pool. I dropped my blackberry @ work and was tweeking pretty bad when she told me to try it.

It worked, as crazy as it sounds.

Take battery out. Apply two small drops of WD40 to the battery compartment.

WD stands for Water Displacement. It was originally designed to displace water from aerospace missile electronic components. See here, about a third of the way down on the list "Drives moisture from Cell phones." http://www.wd40.com/uses-tips/function/drives-out-moisture/

It will slowly creep into every nook and cranny seeking water to displace. Then....

Place phone in a perforated bag of uncooked instant rice. Place in your dehumidified gun safe, or in a sealed (but top ventilated) cardboard box with a 50-75 watt incandescent light bulb for two days minimum.

I've fully revived blackberries and bluetooth devices that were completely submerged in water for substantial periods of time. The bluetooth devices actually worked better than new after this treatment.

Raised on Georgia Sweet Tea, then transitioned to the Long Island version.

Turn it off and remove the battery, then soak the phone in de-ionized water and leave it on for 24 hours, (alcohol also works but I'm not sure)

Then get a bowl of uncooked rice and leave put the phone inside and leave it there for 24 hours. You can put in in a perforated bag to avoid scratches but I usually just don't do it, since if you put there without the bag, it will soak yo more.

When you say leave it on for 24 hours, do you mean leave the water on the phone?
