Help Wet Phone

This is not my phone. It is my girlfriends neice. She has a Droid that got wet. It will charge, but barley. After i unplug it it may last about a minute before it dies. But it starts up and loads. Anyone know what it might be? The board cant be fried if it powers? I dont know what to do with it, Other than steal her SD card and use it for my own personal gain! lol

You charge it while the components are still damp, so electricity + damp cell phone components = *fizzle*. Why did you charge it before completely drying it? The rice methods works

Tried Rice. But i heard you have to do that as soon as it gets wet. I dont know how long she waited before giving it to me. Could have been a week or two days. But i tried the rice. I wrapped it in a towel and placed it on my radiant heater. It must be dry. But the battery can charge all day and then i will still only get a minute of use before it dies. No biggie really. She got a new phone. Just thought i could fix it easy and have a backup.
