What am i doing wrong here !!!! (galaxy nexus)

Hello everyone,
So I just got my Galaxy Nexus, I was looking forward to it. Now I can't ever seem to search the web on this phone... It never says 4G, 3G, OR 1X on it ? Wifi is on works well... but when wifi is off I can't go onto the internet.

Prior to this I had the Incredible 2 HTC. I'm beginning to miss it. I logged on to VZNwireless and it has 5 stars by all those who reviewed it. I want to feel like it's a 5 star phone too... can anyone help me out with this ?

sim card was placed in by the VZN rep. and they guy kind of rushed me off while the phone was setting up, so I did have issues with the set up. I ended up going home and doing it with verizon over the phone. Can I just ask verizon for another SIM card ? They don't sell them.
 
oh also... what I just ended up doing was turning off the 4g and leaving the CDMA on only. It took about 45 min till I was able to use my browser. Up until then I had only occasionally seen a 3g on the phone.
 
I had the same problem with mine the other day, and somehow i had disabled mobile data. I re checked the box and what do you know, I had service again.
 
I had this happen when a Verizon rep in a rush to get me in and out "activated my phone". I did a factory reset and this fixed my setup issues. Thanks Verizon...
