Help What apps are you installing?

I've got everything transferred and the phone running on my VM account. This is my first droid and so far I only have link2sd. Any suggestions on other apps or what have you installed? Is Juice defender worth it in saving the battery?

Juice defender doesn't do much, it's important to have your battery charged full and depleted completely the very first time so the phone can establish its battery life.

Also as far as apps go, download Minutes Checker from VM; every time you end a call it tells you how many minutes you have left (is you have the $35/$45 plan) and it's super convenient.

And Bouncy Mouse is fun!

Also I love widgets. The battery widget it awesome, the little dock widget where you can turn off and on wifi, brightness, blutooth, etc, is very helpful.
 
Wait are apps and widgets two different things? What does the battery widget do? Yeah I followed the suggestions on other threads about turning everything off and lowering the resolution to help battery life, plus this is the first cycle that I'm waiting for it to die down so I can charge overnight.
 
Yeah, apps and widgets are 2 different things. There's a pretty good video explaining the difference here: Explaining Android widgets - YouTube

Did you charge the phone fully or are you letting it die first, then the charging to full. You should really charge it for 8 hours, then let it die completely on it's first charge, not the other way around.

Battery widget will just display your battery info on one of the home screens, but there are loads of pretty cool pre installed HTC Widgets you can try out.
 
Nice thank you, this is the first charge after having it die and shut itself off, but now a new question. I plugged it in shortly after midnight while it was still off to charge with the orange light. I wake up nine hours later and the orange light is still on. I turned on the phone and it powers up like normal, but the charging is still going according to the battery icon at the top and the orange light is still going. It's noon now and still orange light for 12 hours. It does turn green eventually right?
 
Yes, it should eventually turn green. Try another cycle see if it helps. But I don't think you should drain the battery totally empty anymore, maybe to below 10% and then do full charge.

I've similar issues, if you unplug and restart, the light will turn green.
 
My co-worker recommended Advanced App Killer and Juice Defender. I am trying them out now.

I like the HTC Flashlight, and I am having fun reading bar codes with the ShopSavvy bar code reader.
 
Works great now, thank you to everyone for your suggestions :D. It may have also been that the charger didn't like being plugged into a power strip rather than a wall outlet.
