What apps will you put on your Inspire?

I will be getting a mixture of apps that you all are listing. One of the most important ones that I've seen that doesn't pertain to rooting is Netflix, IMO.

I love my netflix, hated using it on the iPhone, loved it on my iPad. Not so sure my opinion will change with an Android version.

I have to agree, I cannot see watching movies on my SmartPhone now matter who makes it or which OS it runs, but I do watch them on my iPad.

I have a question for those of you with an Android device and SiriusXM. When I had a Captivate last year the app was terrible. It would always cut out. It runs fine on my iPhone 4 has it gotten better on Android? Has anyone had issues lately?

I heard they were waiting on some beurocratic nonsense. something about android not being secure enough. lets hope it comes to the qualcomm snapgradon packing inspire first!

Yeah I read this too. Qualcomm said they've met the standards the studios require. So we'll see what happens.

Regarding netflix... since the phone has Flash couldn't you just watch your movies directly through a browser in Full Screen mode? I'll find out tomorrow I guess.

Not nearly as battery efficient and it wont load to your native resolution properly I'd suspect.

Good points, I never thought about the resolution, that could be really annoying.

And, I did a quick search and this is what I found regarding the creation of an app for Android:

"The hurdle has been the lack of a generic and complete platform security and content protection mechanism available for Android."

The rest of the story is here: http://blog.netflix.com/2010/11/netflix-on-android.html

I am curious what people are using for a Task Killer? I used to use Advanced Task Killer but I heard that it now messes your phone up more than anything so just out of curiosity what are some of you using?

Its my understanding that in newer builds of Android, you should leave all of that memory management to the OS. No need for any task killer apps? Is that the consensus? I'm curious...

I would like a netflix app =/

I set up www.playon.tv this weekend. It's not as good as an actual netflix app should be, but it isn't bad at all. If you have a UPNP router the setup is fairly straightforward. If not, there is some router configuration that needs to happen (port forwarding), but it runs well for me and also plays hulu, espn, CBS, and several other networks. I'm going to play with it for the two week trial and decide if I want to pay for it.
