What are ya'll using as your file sharing app?

Lurker
There's quite a few out there, and many have posted on this forum about them, but I wanted to get a gauge for what people are using on the latest Nexus 7's. Most apps are quite clunky as well, and look like they were designed by engineers for engineers. But I guess that's the early adopter crowd!

I used dropbox till it was full and id say its the best. Now i use Box. There are a LOT though so just use the free allowance until theyre full (if youre cheap like me) :)

I got a 70GB Droobox account (thank you Samsung for free 50GB) and use only 10GB of it. It's for sharing files with groups like the school paper and classmates.

I have 45GB on Sugarsync which serves as an online backup of many of my own files. I use it to share my files with others if they ask for copies of specific files of my own.

15GB on Box.com filled with music for streaming (Google Music isn't available here).

15GB on a Google Drive shared with my friends for our own uses.

15GB on a personal Google Drive for app backups that sync to it and a 2nd copy of my more important school files.

25GB on SkyDrive for my OneNote files and 3rd backup of school files.

100GB on Shared.com but it's mostly empty. Same as 50GB on Mega.

I have no sensitive files so it's fine for them to live in the cloud. These are files that I can remake anyway but will be a hassle to do so. Mostly transcriptions and summaries of lectures and books as well as school work. The good thing about this setup is that even if I lose any of my devices, the important stuff aren't gone. I've had my laptop hard drive fail and lose nothing but my progress in games like Skyrim and Assassin's Creed.

box, dropbox, and drive. use em all, but mostly box, where i have 50gb. dropbox i think i only have 2 gb, and drive has 15gb.

i prefer box.

What i hate about box is when you share a pic, the other person has to download to view it, unlike dropbox

Thanks for all your feedback. I'm seeing the usual suspects(DropBox, Box, Google Drive), etc. I've played with them all, but I'm looking for something that is as much about sharing as it is about repository. For many of these apps, it takes like 7-8 clicks to get a file shared, which is very cumbersome.

Do you guys/gals see these services more as a repository of stuff that you happen to access on other devices (and share once in a while), or do you folks use it as an active way to share stuff with others?

Anybody play with AirDrop from (putting flame suit on), Apple? It is a very direct way of sharing, as opposed to storing/saving.

I came across a post on XDA forum about a company building a new app called Drop, that is essentially proximity-based P2P file sharing. It is kind of like AirDrop, but for Android. They are going into Private Beta soon, so I signed up to see what all the buzz is about. You can sign up at Drop Launch Page - Share Simply.

Isn't AirDrop just a fancy name for WiFi Direct Sharing? My Samsung devices have that built in. Or you can just NFC

Actually, it is a little bit more sophisticated than that. The way that the UI flows for AirDrop is different than anything in Android that uses WiFi Direct. Samsung requires NFC to pair, then you can initiate a transfer. Some have complained it to be a rather bulky and unwieldy solution. Also, generally, NFC is used to pair devices, and not used to send large data because NFC is very very short distance and very very low bandwidth.
