Heineken brewed in Holland unless the label is lying.

Doesn't matter, DPB. That's the basis for the success of Heineken. No matter where you drink it, from Alaska to South Africa, it's all the same. It's not a great beer, but it's consistent globally.

I'm back on Pepsi but this Heineken thing is still bugging me. Does every bottle and can actually come from Holland or is "Brewed in Holland" simply a slogan?
From what I can tell from scouring the web, it looks like in the US it's imported, but in the UK and some other countries it's actually brewed there and is even possibly not the same.

I visited the Heineken brewery in Amsterdam and took the tour. The way they explained it was that the original concept for Heineken was to have a beer available globally that was consistent. It had to be decent, but not necessarily excellent, but most importantly it had to be the same whether it was in Holland, South Africa or Japan. They soon discovered that transporting it everywhere from one location was impractical so they built breweries in strategic locations to make supplying the world easier.

I took a picture when I was there of some of the bottle on display. Some don't say "Brewed in Holland" on them.
