Root what are you guys using for tether?

I have tried barnacle and my phone connects but metro doesnt let me surf on my laptop

and yes barnacle works for wifi tethering

So after the zv9 update, my wifi doesn't work anymore. I'm not rooted either. Anyone know any apps that will work without root?

Barnacle will work only if connecting with my pc. Other phones and tablet cant find my hotspot. Any help?

after multiple tries with barnacle and quick settings, googled "Android Wifi Tether" and came across the code.google.com page for the project.

rooted and on zv9. Wifi Tether 3.1 beta11 works a treat.

This does work for my PC to connect but my tablet, other phones cant catch the signal. Anyone know why? Is it because its using wireless N and not wireless G?

It works for my tablet as well as other devices all you need to make sure you have LG OPTIMUS S selected and you will be able to get a tablet connected as well as other phones.

Barnacle works...
You will need to go into Settings and put a check next to:
Skip wpa_supplicant. I found this in a tech note on their website.
I am using it to connect my son's ipod while we are in the car and it works great.

This works great for me as well, selected the optimus s in profile settings as suggested and it works like a charm. thank you..

Can metro tell without looking at are phones what apps we have installed like Google can. If so can they cut use off for just having a tether app and not using it

I don't think so, Im pretty sure the only thing rooting (and all that goes along with it) conflicts with is our warranties. And seeing since we're able to revert back to stock we're pretty much covered.
