7 Year Itch – Etta James

She just got out of rehab when she recorded this, the backing band was tight and excellent, and the album is almost flawless. It's Etta at her very best.

Silence is golden ... No not the song, just silence ... when the voices in my head wake up it will be time to turn up the volume on the distraction noises !

My mind is like an internet browser. At least 19 open tabs, 3 of them are frozen, and I have no clue where the music is coming from.

Cute story about Ian Anderson. He played the flute using saxophone fingerings, which are close to flute fingerings but not optimal for the flute.

His daughter learned flute and told him "Daddy, you are doing that wrong", so he had to learn proper flute fingerings.

Stand Up

I heard the slow movement of this one on the radio, and had to hear the full symphony. It's my favorite Beethoven symphony and I've always liked Szell's interpretations when he lead The Cleveland

Beethoven - Symphony No.7 Op.92 (Cleveland Orchestra - George Szell)

The cities have turned into jungles
And corruption is stranglin' the land
The police force is watching the people
And the people just can't understand

We don't know how to mind our own business
'Cause the whole world's got to be just like us
Now we are fighting a war over there
No matter who's the winner we can't pay the cost

'Cause there's a monster on the loose
It's got our heads into the noose
And it just sits there watchin'

America, where are you now
Don't you care about your sons and daughters
Don't you know we need you now
We can't fight alone against the monster

The cities have turned into jungles
And corruption is stranglin' the land
The police force is watching the people
And the people just can't understand

We don't know how to mind our own business
'Cause the whole world's got to be just like us
Now we are fighting a war over there
No matter who's the winner we can't pay the cost

'Cause there's a monster on the loose
It's got our heads into the noose
And it just sits there watchin'

America, where are you now
Don't you care about your sons and daughters
Don't you know we need you now
We can't fight alone against the monster
It's sad how relevant the lyrics remain since the LP was released in 1969 :(
