What case did you get?

I don't want something too bulky, as the X2 fits nicely in the pocket as-is. I'm going to order a Steinheil screen protector from the SGP store, and they offer some kind of skin-tight body protection, but without pictures I can't gauge how well it actually protects the phone if dropped.

What have you guys been buying?

Eric

I got the Otterbox Defender....freaking huge...having second thoughts. As far as protection goes, there's nothing better though....I will be interested to see what others have to say.

Steinheil is the best. I have been annoyed at the fact none of the manufacturers design cradles with cases in mind. Not Apple and pretty much nobody else. So I just use a screen protector. I would like to have a slim case but I won't hassle removing it every time I need the cradle (many times a day both home and car). So you just have to be careful as you can :-(

got the rocketfish droid x body glove case from best buy. I think it is the perfect case, doesn't add any bulk whatsoever. Fits perfect around the phone.

I got the ACTIVE case from Seidio... they have a SURFACE case that is even slimmer, or a CONVERT case for more rugged.

I ordered it from the Seidio site though so it's not in-hand yet... will let you know what I think of it once it arrives, probably Monday.

I have seen these cases for other phones though, they seem far superior to anything else I have seen.

I really loved the speck candyshell when I had an iphone. Dropped that phone a dozen times and it was fine.

I wish they made something like that for the droid x. :( The otterbox is just too bulky looking.

I'm assuming it's a DX1 case. I might be kind of annoyed that it's got a clicky surface for the camera button when there's not one on the DX2.

I ordered the Otterbox Commuter Series case.. Suppose to be thinner not as obtrusive as the Defender, but no buint in screen protector, ill pick one of those up in the coming days..

Report how it is when i get it (should be a week or so, its out of stock)

Anyone have any updates on their cases?

Edit: I just ordered the Incipio Silicyrlic for $21 on Amazon. I'll update this once I get it

I got the Otterbox Commuter and not only does it work great, it's sexy. Had my first drop today and I didn't even wince. I knew it was okay.

The DX2 is big enough without adding layers to it IMO. Are there any belt cases that do not trigger the docking mode? The VZW case triggers it, due to the magnet locations. It can sometimes not trigger by facing the display outward, but is awkward to remove from the case that way and invites dropping.

I have the Seidio Active case on mine and it is perfection! Best case I have ever had for a phone. Easy to put on and take off for docking and such. I didn't get the Seidio accessories like the dock and car mount because of the $20 bundle deal I took advantage of. I am very pleased. It is seamless. I loved the color choices, I got the Sapphire Blue. It's very dark and the face of it is black not to distract from the screen.

I highly recommend Seidio.

Absolutely love my Incipio SILICRYLIC! Love the "hybrid" structure and Incipio's customer service is nothing short of fantastic.

I picked this one up as well.. I like how sturdy it is and the shell doesn't add much more bulk on top of the silicone sleeve.

However, I had to take it off the phone today and it was a bit of a pain to get off.

If you are using the shell on top of the silicone sleeve and want to get it in and out of the dedicated droid x/x2 docking stations, it might be a hassle.

If you don't need to remove it much, it's great.

I finally made a decision after much research: the Surface case by Seidio. I'm loving this case - super slim, the blue color is a really nice matte finish, buttons are exposed and easy to use with the case on, everything is perfect. I left the extended battery door off the phone and just freeball it inside the case. Thanks for the all the input folks.

I have the Seidio Active case as well, great cane and great protection, the only thing I dislike about it is that around the edges of the screen where the rubber case sits gets built up with dust and dirt, make sure you clean it frequently and have a screen protector, other than that, great case and I would highly recommend, not too bulky but plenty of protection!

I have an Otterbox Commuter and it's too bulky on the DX2, so I'm running mine naked with a Steinheil protector on the screen. Without a case, the DX2 is roughly the same size as an iPhone or Incredible 2 with a case installed. This phone is pretty grippy and the industrial design seems less prone to slipping out of my hand.

Well so much for the Incipio Case. It lasted all of a month and a half. It didn't even break because of a drop- just from everyday use. Piece of crap

EDIT: Well, they're shipping me a new one without having me send the broken one back. That's nice. I'll just have to be more careful of it this time around.

Ended up going with an Incipio Silicrylic case (model MT-127) paired with a Steinheil Ultra Crystal screen protector. Absolutely perfect. Clear screen, great form factor and no proximity sensor interference. Could not be more pleased.
