Help What did I do (home sceen & apps)?

Good morning (depending on where you're from),

I haven't had a chance to introduce myself in the members section, but I will later today. This is my first post, and everything has been VERY helpful so far, thank you.

While sleeping (heavily, I might add) last night, I guess I grabbed my phone and shoved it under my pillow. When I woke up this morning, I found two things had changed:

1. On the home screen, the three options that are generally at the bottom of the screen, horizontally -- Phone, Apps Menu, Contacts -- is now hanging out on the right side in a vertical set-up. How do I change it back?

2. In general (I like that term, by the way), the applications menu is nicely laid out where I can read everything easily. Now, the icons are all scrunched up, as if they're piled into an elevator closely. How do I change this back?

Thank you for your help. I look forward to learning more about my phone from everyone here as I play with it more. I've only had it since Dec. 29th.

A little more information would be helpful. What make and model phone and carrier do you have and what version of Android OS is on your phone?

From the description of the dock bar, it sounds like you have a Motorola Droid. There is probably an option fro dock bar location in Motoblur setup.

Oh my gosh, I'm sorry (I can be an idiot, sometimes) ... I have a Motorola Droid X on the Verizon network.

I really can't imagine, that in my sleep, I went into a menu and changed a bunch of things, haha! I will take a look at that. Would that be the same with the close applications in the menu, too?

If you can teach me how to take a screen shot, I will post in this as well. Thank you, again!!

As a side note, I do not see MotorBlur Set Up option. Look forward to more info. :) Sorry about the phone thing.

I can't check the settings for you since I don't have a Droid at my disposal... maybe one of the mods can move this to a droid forum so someone with the phone can check for you.

As for screen shots, unless you are rooted, you'll need to install the Android SDK. How to take screenshots of your Android based phone from Windows – Simple Help It's a bit of a process to set up, but it's pretty easy and works just fine.

Thanks! Actually, I did "fix" both problems by turning off and turning back on the phone. Everything is back to normal. I'm still learning the phone, but the one thing I will ALWAYS know -- hard boots do the trick 75% of the time...and 68% of statistics are made up!! :)

That's only true 82% of the time, though. You ever see Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy? A guy in there had a cologne called Sex Panther, and it's tagline was "75% of the time, it works every time!"

Anyways, glad to hear you fixed your problem the easy way. I've had a couple little issues over the months that were fixed with a power cycle, pretty much like any other computer. If it's giving you problems, cycle the power! Welcome to the Forum, by the way!
