Root What did I do wrong? Superuser exists - with no root access :(

I just rooted using 1.8ra

I have the superuser icon but nothing will run with root access. And I check in the terminal emulator and I get the same thing "access denied."

HELP!

at least my phone still makes calls.....I think.

wait a sec.....I think I panicked too soon!

I went back and installed the 2.04beta and that seems to have done the trick YEE HAA!!

Have you rebooted your droid? If so, have you done a power cycle (pull the battery, wait a minute, put back in and turn on) yet? Maybe you should try rooting again just to verify that everything was executed properly
