What do you drive?

96 Toyota Estima 8 seater, my daughter used it as a moving van recently. Power locks, windoes, roof, folding mirrors, climate, 4x4 auto trans etc.. It's diesel, and using the premium fuel DOES make a HUGE difference to economy.... 27mpg on regular diesel, 33 on Shell's premium (same driving, 50/50 town & highway)

They make premium diesel?

My fiance's got a pretty fuel efficient car but I drive a diesel myself and it puts anything save a Jetta Hybrid or Prius to shame (barring electric-only and plug-in hybrid cars) as far as MPG goes.

Apparently they actually do. I was doubting that one myself. Typical premium diesel has cetane numbers between 50 and 60.

Of course California being, well, California, requires a minimum cetane rating of 53 while the rest of the county requires 40.

The higher cetane number does not necessarily translate into greater efficiency, although it may in certain engines.

I honestly didn't know that. It might also be a California thing. I have to wonder how well the Jetta TDI'd do on premium diesel... I already get 45mpg (3 higher than sticker) average on a road trip.

it's not as new or fancy as all of y'alls cars but it does the job pretty well, my 1992 Pontiac Bonneville SSE with over 268K miles on it. it was high-tech in '92 with everything from ABS, traction control, Driver Info display, auto climate control, 12-way power seats, passive security, and even a Head-Up Display unit.

Our family actually has 3 cars... A 1991 Subaru Legacy (my dad's), a 2001 Subaru Forester (mine), and a 2005 Pontiac Montana (my mom's). We bought them all used for under $2000 each and the Subarus have both given us endless problems so far. :D

My dad loves his Legacy but I'm currently driving it (because my Forester currently has a master cylinder problem and the clutch is basically all air, so my dad's driving it because he knows how to deal with a clutch that won't (dis)engage properly and I don't), and I HATE it lol.

Here are some pictures that I Googled, because all three of our cars are dented (two of them are my fault, actually... the other was when a new driver drove his car into our van in a parking lot; but I've only been driving for a year minus a week now as well) and so I can't post pictures of them. :)

Our Legacy has about 213,000 kilometres.

Our Forester has 413,000 kilometres!!! :o And since I started driving it daily, it's gotten horribly worn out, so it's going to break down soon ;) - just hopefully not while I'm driving it!!! :P

I don't even know the mileage on this one, but it's not horribly excessive. I think it may be around 219,000 or so. Either that, or it's under 100,000 kilometres. Ahaha. ;)

I can't wait until my dad fixes my beloved Forester and I can actually drive it again... It's been too long!!! I constantly feel like I'm being tailgated while I'm driving the Legacy, even when the other car's actually quite a far distance behind me, and it's rather annoying, aieee!!!

Until last week, I drove my trusty 2002 Saturn L200...then it was totaled. So now I drive this almost brand new (5k miles) 2012 VW Jetta.

Here's my babe. Has a 2zz engine swap, 6 speed transmission, various stability bars, lowered, PowerFC Ecu, TDR Bodykit, and several other mods. She's fast, runs well - my only complaint is the exhaust is way too loud.

Here is my car I just picked up. Its a 2003 Sonic Blue SVT Cobra. It has the supercharged 4v 4.6L engine and the car only has 18k miles on it.

It's amazing how much abuse those inline sixes can take. The other Jeep I mentioned previously needs just about every single seal imaginable replaced but it still serves well for the daily driver. Drinks about a quart of oil a day and a gallon of water a week.

I love the inline 6 in mine. I don't have any of the problems I hear about other people with TJ wranglers have when I'm on the highway. I don't baby it either on the trails. I've got an 06 with about 70k miles that I drive everyday, and I'll never get rid of it!

Same here. Mine is about as environmentally friendly as a BP oil spill ;). It will never die ;)

Quite unlike most newer vehicles where all it takes is a fouled spark plug and it goes into the junkyard. Which is what really gets under my skin with the C.A.R.S. program, they could've just sent the vehicles to the junkyard WITHOUT draining the engine and filling with liquid silicate to seize them. How many other vehicles could've used the parts out of those that were seized?

:applause:Cobalt SS, right? Those were some pretty bad ass cars. I wish they kept that going.

Yep. Turbocharged and I love it! Only thing is I keep having trans. issues. It goes back to the dealer to figure out the problem with the one they dropped in it in January. I think it may be the input shaft bearing:mad:
