Help What do you use to convert video files?

Hi all,

I'm looking for a program that can convert the many large MKV files I have into something more manageable for my DHD to play.

I had been using Videora iPod Convertor and using the preset iPod Touch/iPhone settings but the results can be blocky.

So what does everyone else use?

I'm not looking to do batch conversions, but simple cut down the file size and screen size of movies/TV shows for me to watch on long journeys.

I use TMPGEnc eXpress 4. Fantastic bit of video editing kit.

I have now upgraded to TMPGEnc video master 5.

These read and encode about every format I could throw at it. Including flv.

Looks great (and pricey) for the pro user.

Anyone got any free suggestions that work really well?

I use Mobo Player, no conversion needed. For avi and xvid, etc. Free app in the Market.

I can't find that in the market. I really need something to cut down the 1.09GB HD TV mkv files I have to something more manageable.

I'm also going away on a week long business trip next week so it would be useful to rip some DVD's so I have something to watch in the evenings.

Vuze.

It converts media for Android, PS3, Xbox, iPod AND is a torrent search engine/download manager AND streams media from my laptop to my wireless network at home.

HD Videos converted look stunning.
