Hello,
I was wondering what you all use to change and install different ROMs on your phones. Do you do it manually? Or do you use something like ROM Toolbox Pro? What is best/most reliable/easiest?
the most relaible, and IMO the best and easiest,is manually in recovery. i personally prefer TWRP or amon, but use whatever you like.
apps like rom manager or rom toolbox are exactly that: they are apps,in a working rom,and as such will not always be available for you to use.
they also dont seem to be very reliable. i cant count the number of posts ive read in the various forums i frequent here that start something like: "i flashed xyz rom with rom manager and now my phone wont boot, and i cant get to rom manager to fix it.help!"
recovery is a devoted partition on your phone that will always be there, and it will be to your advantage IMO,to use it
hello daniel! scottys answer is the best ROM manager and ROM toolbox pro are nice apps great work to the devs BUT they do not support a wide range of phone (if you want your phone to work you will have to personally talk to the DEVS) but IMO RECOVERY is the best and easiest way to flash ROMs i do NOT own this device so i do NOT know how twrp or amon work but they should be just as simple as CWM-Based recovery
now for flashing(installing) ROMs your best best is to follow the devs install instructions to the T and always make sure to clear your phone so as you do not run into any problems
I download the rom, place it on the SD card, then flash it in recovery (after making a backup.. just in case). Super easy and just a couple of more steps than going through an app.
