What do your Droid 2 screens look like?

Beginning the process of customizing my home screen. The first issue I encountered is that I can't make the Beautiful Widget Pro be totally solid. There is always some amount of transparency even when I select it to not be.

How do I get it like that?

Is rooting the only way to turn the notification bar black?

^seems to be. on froyo with the liberty rom i could totaly hide the task bar.
now that im on 2.3 liberty the option is gone ;(

if you find out a way to hide it or turn it black plz post it or pm me plz
