What does AT&T buying T-Mobile mean for my Atrix?

I've heard people say that T- Mo uses different wireless frequencies than AT&T. Am I foolish to hope that my "4G" speeds will increase if AT&T buys T-Mo?

first thing they will do is consolidating their towers, by eliminating the duplicate coverage.... i.e. increase on coverage? maybe. but probably won't increase bandwidth. then they probably won't have as much update or new android model in the future, as T-mobile is the only UMTS/H+ competitor in US.

Youre probably right. Even though they said they will have immediate control of towers, it looks like the deal will take a year to finalize.

Doesn't T-Mobile have unlimited data at a good price? They don't really have enough coverage in my area for me, data is very slow, but wonder if there will be a window of time where I could set up a T-mobile account with unlimited data and then go with that after the merge? (I'll be out of contract, so no ETF.) LateDroid is right, I probably will be ready for another phone by then, but it seems like there should be a way to get unlimited data on the new AT&T out of this!

$10/mo. for 7Mbs+ speeds, on non T-Mo branded phones. Data is supposedly limited to 5Mbs, before speeds are throttled. I've exceeded it 2x but have not yet been throttled.
