What does May 19th Fulfillment mean?

I am shopping for the first smartphone, and have decided on a dual core. I have heard great stories of the DX, and while I'd really like to wait for the GS2 or the Bionic, I'm over that sh** because Verizon is as sketchy as they come and I just want to get a phone.

SO, my question is on all these DX2 rumors, Verizon has finally confirmed a release date in stores on May 26th, and "Direct Fulfillment" on May 19th...

What is direct fulfillment? Something that allows me to get it earlier?

I believe it means you can order online beginning May 19th and actually receive your order before the store launch date of May 26th...correct me if I'm wrong.

yeah its a good sign but until they pop up on the website or we get an official outing from VZW then you'll drive yourself nuts trying to keep up with the release date. I mean look at how they handled the Inc2.....it got official from VZW about 2 days before launch.

Other than labelling, I'm not sure companies will have to re-tool the curent DX accessories for the DX2. Could explain the lack of stuff coming out.

Fulfillment is a fancy term that the product will be available for channel partners (BB, Amazon, VZW, etc) to order and Sony distribution will ship out to them (sell-in). The "ship" part being key.

Consumers buying it would be sell-through.
