Root What does root even mean to some?

It sounds like you would benefit a lot from a good, long read of the guide at the link I gave you, and then go ahead and flash Evil Eris or any other ROM you like the looks of, after both a wipe and a dalvec wipe; you'll see them offered on the restore mode menu.

Take your time, that is what guarantees success with rooting.

ok i have the lightning rom on here and i had evil eris but decided to switch.
how do i overclock and take screen shots?
also my mms isnt working any advice?

I use SetCPU to overclock. It is in Market; just go into Market and use the search feature to find it or other overclocking apps.

Screen shots can be done in more than one way; the preferred method is simply to download a screen grabber, again from Market. Another way, the way I like to use, is via the SDK utility.

Sorry I cannot offer advice on MMS problems; I never use that and need to read up on it. Just do a search in the Eris forums for threads with MMS in the title; I'm sure you'll get informed help already posted, unless somebody comes into this thread to help out.
