Root What does rooting mean? What do you do with it? What does it do?

Well, when you root, you want to make a canal out of your phone! haha joking.

It means getting root access to your cell phone, which will allow you to do things that you can't normally do.

As for how to do it, I am still trying to learn it.
 
Do you know why people rooting their phones?? Because they CAN!!! :eek: Most of them do not even know, why they are doing that, they have no idea...........but of course, it sounds cool - "my phone is rooted..", doesn't it? ;)
 
Or it can mean when you're favorite team is playing, you're rooting for them to win.....
 
It all started with the flashing of a WinMo phone back in the day and in turns into an addiction that you'll never really get over. Like Fuzio said, after a while you dont even know why you keep doing it.
 
I have to agree, I was laughing my ass off when i read this cuz i started with an iphone, and im switching to a photon with every intent on rooting it having no clue what it will do but im just addicted to messing with phones now!
 
There's an excitement in trying out the latest and greatest ROM - It's a continual search for the best thing out there. I've always loved building and tweaking computers, so rooting my phone was a natural step for me. I remember opening up my first computer with my friend and seeing the 14400 baud modem and him saying - "Dude, 14400?? I've only got 2400K!". The excitement is kind of like that. If you don't get it, then you may not be a computer nerd.
