What does tethering data for a console count for?

I have a ps3, I tether my phone to it. Does the data used by the console count as regular data or multimedia data?

I think so to cause I'm on the 50 granfatherd plan and get the 1gb for media. I've never come close to the limit. And today I got a text saying I had 10% left. I do use Pandora but I don't think its been that much

pandora uses alot of bandwidth that raised my meter and theres no need to stay on the old $50 plan theres no benefits only people on old $60 plan get to keep their true unlimted plan. i upgraded to new $50 to get 2.5 gb.

I've used 4gigs since dude date (the 25th) According to data counter widget...haven't gotten that text yet. I'm on the $60 plan, grandfathered. but it is running slower lol I get less than 1mb a sec
