What does this symbol mean?

I have a weird notifcation I see rarely when I restart phone. It's like this *A, and the "A" kinda looks like the amazon A, but then it goes away before I can check the notification bar, anyone seen this?

I'm not to sure I get it as well while watching YouTube videos. I thought it might be AdBlock but seeing as you don't have it I don't think it could be that anymore.

It's strange. It appears and disappears as I tap to hide/show controls while I watch a video on YouTube while in landscape.
 
It appears to be the ICON for notifications disabled. Try going to your messaging app or any other app that has notifications. Try toggling the notifications setting, see if that clears it.
 
I don't have your phone, but on mine that means that I have notifications that aren't showing in the status bar. I get it when it runs out of notification space at the top.
 
So @potterdood maybe go into Amazon and look in the settings to see your update and to disable notification if that's what you want to do.
