Help What % does your Maps use?

Vehtemas

Hey guys,

What % of used battery does your Maps use?

The reason why I ask is that my Maps used a total of 15 minutes of GPS and 6 minutes of CPU foreground and yet used 24% of a 16 hour battery.

my Display is only 7% at 3 hours and 17 minutes of being used...

Wifi is 9% at 4 hours and 48 minutes of usage...

Winamp used 4% at 53 minutes and 2 hour keepawake...

The BIG question is this: is my GPS damaged? It seems to connect fine and operate fine, but it seems preposterous that it uses THAT much battery in comparison to 3 hours of the screen being on...

Picture below: (Ignore the giant drop, I put in my extended battery at that point).

dunno, but I'm wondering what in the heck is `"com.motorola.contacts.data". it's using 12% on my phone, and isn't listed on my wife's Bionic.

But would you say it is proportional to your use?

I just seem to have a hard time believing that 17 minutes of GPS trumps 3 HOURS of display use...

From searching the internet it looks like this might be a glitch between the battery report process and maps itself...

There are tons of hits all over google about high % of maps with the bionic.

Has anyone heard of this or am I just hoping? I don't want to go through the hassle of replacing the phone and re-setting it up...

My battery has been draining excessively over the past few days and when I check my battery usage, it shows google maps as the highest percentage, when I haven't used google maps, or had my gps on. This phone is making me more and more frustrated.

My wife has a bionic, too and she has not had a single problem with hers.

I may reactivate my OG droid and sell this thing on E-bay and just wait for something else.

I'm pretty sure this is the way it works:

When it says it has used 24% - it's not 24% of the total battery charge available.

it's 24% of whatever charge has been used.

IOW, if your battery has been used for a total of 15% (leaving it 85% charged) then your maps session used 24% of that 15%, making it use a grand total of 3.6% of the total battery charge.

Feel better?

BTW, the only time those numbers are truly accurate is when you've used over 95% of your charge. By that time, you'll notice that, provided you never used Maps again, that the percentage on maps will have dropped tremendously (or even have dropped off the list).
