what firmware should i flash to?

I'm going to move this to the all things root section for you, hopefully there you will get some answers to help you out.

KF2 is the newest firmware at the moment. its supposed to have improved battery life. i just flashed mine (frankenstein KF2) yesterday so i'll see how the battery life is today. lol.. n yeah, i doubt it'll be a huge improvement, if ur not keen on flashing too often, u could just wait it out til 2.3.4 is out

dont think so. but i got the frankenstein version of KF2, which is an unofficial custom package, but it has the KF2 pda/phone with XEU CSC. its working fine on my phone :) i recommend this

just a headsup, after a full night's charge, i got the usual 12-13 hours that i was getting on KE1 and KE7. no real improvement at all

+1 for the Frankenstein + KF2

Yet again... +1

I'm rather hoping that the forthcoming CyanogenMod, CM7, may extend battery life as it did on my Nexus One.

cheers :) yes.. im also hoping 2.3.4 gets a release soon n i hope to find a more noticeable improvement then

does it matter that the version on xda for kf2 is polish?
nope. Some regional firmware seem to have limited language options (e.g., KF4 Hong Kong release which primarily supported English & Chinese languages).

However, I'm running the stock Polish KF2 firmware (not Frankenstein version) and it has robust language support. From what I can see scrolling through Languages in Settings, it supports all Euro languages, Korean, as well as some I don't recognize.

If there's a specific language you're wondering about, let me know and I'll take a peek to see if stock KF2 supports it.

I'm also getting great battery life with KF2.

i still havent flashed and really i dont think i need to? i might just wait for 2.3.4 as my battery life easily lasts one day with moderate use with sync always on with push email going, no rooting so wifi sharing and all that still running, have had no problems with it

love my sgs2 =)
