What happened to April 7th release date?

There had been a rumor of this phone being available for pre-order from Costco March 24th.

Didn't happen.

Then there was a rumor that this phone would be available April 7th.

Doesn't look like it will happen.

Where do these rumors come from? Seems really easy to whip up a note or table, put it up on a screen, take a fuzzy picture, post it and have the bloggosphere take off publicizing your hoax.

Now I wonder if this phone will come out any sooner than the LG Revolution or Bionic. No updated news regarding any of them.

Everything is rumor until there is official announcement from VZW or retailers like BB. There are still some folks speculating it will have dual core because of that 300 leaked pricing too. Because VZW is known for long thorough testing and LTE is new technology, I think every LTE phone will take longer than other phones to be released.

I work for Wireless Advocates (the phone place in Costco) and I overheard my boss saying that we should be getting it on April 17th or so. I'm not sure how reliable that is, being that we've been talking about this phone since a meeting we had a few weeks back.

Rumor fail...

With all the ad time put into the tbolt, and the less than stellar sales numbers on it... Verizon is going to focus on it for at least 30 days after launch. I would not expect to see any new higher end LTE phones for another week or 3.

Also notice the complete lack of marketing for anything non iPhone 4 and Thunderbolt.

It seems the hype over LTE (and dual core) phones has been going on forever and yet they are so slow to roll them out. It will be October before we see a Galaxy S2. Just in time for them to announce the quad core 720p phones.

Lets see if they release this phone at the sick 300 dollar price tag. It is a phone... they are approaching tablet prices on subsidized phones. Something wrong with that in my eyes.

I personally am waiting for the LG revolution. It appeals to me.

It will be cheaper because it's subsidized by Bing. I will NOT be buying it because it's subsidized by Bing. I refuse to support that shady anti-customer crap.
