What Happens with update?

I have AT&T Captivate with 2.1.1 Firmware. I have Rooted my phone,made some custom made sounds for different Notifications and added home made Ringtones. When a firmware update comes out(it may have but I don't know) will loading it cause me to lose what I have done?

I typed in "What Happens with update" in the above Search area and it gave me 20 pages of Posts, Can you tell me which one of those 100's of posts has the answer?

I assume you're talking about the 2.2 update? We don't know yet how it will behave, since it hasn't come out yet. It could go either way. Anything until then is just guessing.

Thanks for the replies. I really didn't know if any update was out for the AT&T system yet and I didn't think there was since I only got the phone 2 weeks ago.
