Root What HBOOT versions are bootable?

I have seen 2.02 and up are not rootable but the information was from a few months ago. Are all HBOOTs 2.02 and up still not rootable?

I was planning to pick up a EVO in the next few days but don't want to if it will not be rootable.

TIA for any info.
 
Not exactly. Lol Unrevoked has a beta version thays out right now that will root the new hboots. Im not sure where exactly its at but im sure you can find it on google. Or maybe someone who does have the.link can chime in :) The one on their website is still version 3.22 and the beta I believe is version 3.23

I did alittle more digging. So this is the correct beta that should root a brand new EVO correct?

Also Use the forever S-On patch would "un-do" the root correct?

EDIT: I got it from the IRC channel just wanted verification thats why I linked directly
 
I too have been awaiting a new version of unrevoked that will work with my hboot 2.02, but am wary of trying a beta. Where can one keep up to date on the latest developments with unrevoked?

I read somewhere on this forum yesterday quite a few people having success with the new beta unrevoked

I am picking my EVO up today after work I will probably run stock for a few days before rooting and throwing in a ROM just so I can see the difference from un-modded to modded.

I will deff update if it is still in beta though.
