What high end phones do you think virgin Mobile probably get next?

I know what a Samsung Epic 4g Touch is and its still selling. Its not to many more wimax phones they can bring over so why not one of the best?

As Leslie Ann previously posted, Sprint has never let both prepaid carriers have the same phone. Pretty much leaves the Photon as the only other logical phone going by their current game plan. And while Sprint did pay for the ClearWire contract through 2013, after the stock reorganization it basically gives Sprint a free ride through 2015. And considering all of the people with their shiny new Evo 4g LTE who still haven't had Network Vision rolled out to them you can be sure that we'll be at the back of that line for at least the next year. I mean Sprint's prepaid services have had 4g Wimax service available for all of 3 months.

I love my Evo 3D so much. It has pretty much everything I look for in a phone other than an amazing camera and an AMOLED screen (loved them ever since I got my Zune HD)

If Virgin was to release another high-end phone, it'd have to be pretty damn impressive for me to switch. And I wouldn't even think about doing so without some solid devs working on a CM10 build

Realistically? VM will probably come out with at least one Windows Phone, and maybe something with Jelly Bean once it takes off. Everyone said a high-end phone would never come to VM, and then we got the Evo 3D. So at least they're trying.

No 4G Wimax for hundreds and hundreds of miles close to me. No coverage in the entire state of South Carolina.... nothing even close!! Could care less about Wimax since they are very limited in the markets they are in.

Different situation.
At the time it was a lack of options, the 8530 was the first smartphone cheap enough they felt could be used on prepaid, as such, it was offered on almost every carrier at the time. These days there is no shortage of options and they can use phones to differentiate the services.

Yeah that would be awesome but it would cost maybe about 400-800 USD prepaid

That was quite awhile ago, especially considering that there were very few affordable BlackBerry devices available for prepaid, since the introduction of the Intercept and Android on prepay 2 years ago it hasn't happened.

Fact.... did anyone ever think VM would get the evo 3d. So why is it hard to beleave they will not get other Wimax phone regrade less of when the wimax contract ends. This is the same company that will still happy take your money for a Motorola Triumph and or EVO V 4G...... So let's not be stupid and think they will not sell you a wimax phone knowing down to the second when that network is going away.

I don't really care about 4G. I go on wifi whenever I can, and 3G is fine for web browsing when I'm not near a network. So for me, it's more about getting a phone with awesome specs for $35 a month.

That's why I think this Evo will last me quite awhile. Until some breakthrough happens in cell phone technology, the Evo 3D is plenty powerful...I mean christ, it has similar specs to the iPhone 5 which was released like a week ago.

There are very few Wimax phones being made and odds are, Sprint won't commission a new Wimax phone. They also won't bring any back that have been retired. What is currently being made are the only options.

So the options are Nexus or Conquer, that's it. Boost has two Wimax phones, so I actually expected the Conquer when we got the Evo V, as the lower end Wimax phone.

plus their rolling out their lte for 2013 if you think about it no body would want to be a wimax phone and use it for the next 2 years when they know that lte is being rolled out and want to have access to that instead.

Well I doubt that the Photon will even come over now that Motorola has backpedeled yet again and has confirmed that no ICS update is coming, it'll stay on GB.

Motorola didn't even upgrade the triumph. :banghead: it stayed on froyo but with the help of developers we got cm7 and cm9. If a phone like the photon comes out it will probably get enough developer support to get ics.

Why not? Radio interface error? I love my evo but the coverage isn't that great. Hopefully upgraded 3g will be in many areas.

VM is not going to get a brand new phone, if for no other reason than the high price phones typically have in their first several months. I suspect that another part of it is Sprint not wanting Virgin to compete equally, as they fear many of their customers might move to prepaid.

There seem to be reports that the iPhone 5 will come to Virgin, that it is just a question of how soon. If the rumor about the Galaxy S3 coming to Virgin is true, then it might be released about the same time as the new iPhone -- maybe just before Christmas -- so that customers have a choice between iOS and Android with LTE. The HTC One Vx will be the "new", must have, phone at that point and we are already seeing discounts on the S3.

Personally, I still don't believe it will be that soon (though anything is possible) as Sprint still hasn't rolled out LTE in many cities.

Wouldn't the same logic apply between Boost and VM USA? Boost just got the S2 last month, so why would Sprint's lowest tier prepaid subsidiary get the S3?

Boost and VM seem to trade off on who gets the better phone. VM got the Evo V when Boost got the Evo Design 4G, VM getting the better, dual core, WiMax phone. So, when two Samsung phones were released to prepaid a few months later, Boost got the S2 while VM got the Galaxy Reverb.

I'm not sure that you can classify either Boost or VM as being a lower tier than the other -- Sprint seemingly tries to keep them fairly even; though they market the two a bit differently and typically give them different phones. I think that it is interesting, though, and possible signals VM having a bit of a higher status, that VM was given the iPhone and Boost has not gotten an iPhone. If the rumors are to be believed, at some point VM will get the iPhone 5 but we've still not heard rumors of Boost getting it.
