I have the Defender series for my HTC Desire. It claims it is dust proof. Well, it is not. It gets so much debris in it just from sitting in my front pocket. I have to crack it open every 2 weeks or less to clean it out. The debris is getting inside under the screen protector from where the hard button openings are. While I like the case it is far from dust proof. It is a pain always having to open it up and clean it out. Just my experience from having it for a couple months now.

i agree.. i had to sell mine after using it for 1 day. i bought a Commuter series instead.

I have a Defender on my Note 4 and it has the same problem with dust getting under the built in screen protector.

No biggie though... I just removed it (the screen protector ) ... it comes off very easily.

Then I put on a SuperSheildz.
