what I have learned about this battery

.. i have learned is that when i stop checking my battery obsessively.. it seems to last a whole lot longer.
I am quite serious.
Between that and turning off PVMtpServiceStart and disabling background data the phone lasts me all day. Its no blackberry but it's doable.
I think i looked at it every 5 minutes to monitor my drain.. that is just plain WRONG! I had a busy work day yesterday and did not tinker with it other than to make phone calls and texts and I think i got over 12 hours and still had decent charge to make it through the night. I would need to boost it if i were going to be away from a charger till late night but that is really not so bad. Well worth it.

From the moment I bought the phone, I had a battery-monitoring widget, showing me an exact percentage for my battery.
After removing it, I have noticed that my battery does last longer - or at least it feels like it does.
Looking at that number drop so "rapidly", made me panic when it got around 40% and I felt like from that point on, I couldn't use my phone or else it would die before I could get to a charger. But again - after I took that off my phone, I have taught myself to not really care - and it has never died on me (except when I went to Disneyland, which was stupid of me to not take my extended battery with me)

I just turned off PVMtpServiceStart in Running Services. Is that what you are referring to? Does it start back up when you restart your phone? Meaning, do I have to turn it off every time I restart my phone?

FUnny how when you stop turning the screen on to check battery status the battery lasts longer. Like they say a watched pot never boils lol. What you learned has been known ever sense the android phones first came out.

Yes and there is another one that starts with PVM in running services that you also should turn off. Yep they do turn back on after a reboot . Made a huge difference. Battery lasted all day after I turned them off and I have bluetooth on all day

I only had on PVM service, the other is PVW - is that the other one you suggest?

I will reboot a little later to see what it is. I learned about it on this forum. They are both related to blockbuster and really drain the battery. I don't have anything with pvw on so I think that may be it

i was getting great battery life until the following: i'm not using beautiful widget's weather widget (set to update every 3 hours), simi clock (with weather and battery enabled), and batt stat pro.
