What I learned today about ATT release date

I went into BB yesterday and a salesman said they were getting the Note3 in Friday and would have them Saturday morning. I went into ATT store and they could not give me a release day. I called the smaller ATT store in Fort Collins too and got the same info.

Since I had preordered from ATT I knew they were shipping on Oct1 so I could miss out on several days.

Well today I went into BB to talk about when they were getting the Note 3 - thinking I would cancel my preorder and they went to their computer but first asked my carrier. Seems they had changes where now they will not release the phone to their customers before the carriers did - and the date that came back to them was Oct 3-4.

Interesting. Anyone else have more data???

I am in the AT&T Que, I just called and they said demand is so high that not all buyers phones will ship out on Oct 1st, their original estimate. I hope I don't have to wait a substantial amount of time. Pre-orders were open a full week before I noticed it. All I can do is wait :)

Yesterday, I have spoke with 3 supervisors at BBM corporate and they all said the original release date of 9/27 was pushed to 10/4 (yes 10/4) because they were told by AT&T that they cannot sell it before AT&T store have it.

So I went into the local BB store and again verified that it is no dice for today 9/27 and that they have do not even have a 100% date yet on when they will get them. So I canceled my BB pre-order, Good news is that means it will most likely be available at BB and AT&T corp on 10/4.

Oh and about AT&T pre-orders, even though the website still says your Note 3 will ship on 10/1, when you go to place the order, it says it will ship on or around 10/1. They pulled this BS with the Note 2 and it shipped a day late. But I still got it the same day it was available at the AT&T corp stores.

This time, I'm just going to avoid the stress and head to a corp store the day they have it in stock and get it. It's not an iPhone, so I doubt there will be a big line if any.

What amazes me is with this being the most expensive device on the Market, why can't the carriers give up an answer on a release date?!?!?!?

Was just at one of Chicago Downtown ATT locations. They said that the phone is scheduled to be available October 1st, then someone said October 4th. Does not seem that employees get the full disclosure.
There was however a sample of Note 3 hanging on the wall. Got to play with it a little. I use an Iphone and just now upgraded to Note 3 on preorder date. I'm not a technical guy, so it does take some getting used to. First impression: very light, thin phone. not as solidly built as iphone, operates very fast, graphics look nice, camera is great for snapping immediate pictures and great detail. S pen use a little awkawrd. A bit flimsy feeling for such an expensive phone, but I guess its whats inside that counts.

Here are my thoughts on the shipping date, and why there's always a disclaimer in the fine print.

Most of us are keenly aware of the ultra competitive nature of the smartphone business circa 2013. Working at a frantic pace to complete new models and bring them to market as fast as possible is a daunting task.

Therefore rather than keep us guessing or worse, buying a competitors phone, the moment they feel they can predict, they give us a date knowing they can change it if needed.

I have pre-ordered mine through AT&T and when I check my order online it states it will ship Oct. 1-2.

Will have to see what happens of coarse!

AT&T has remained steadfast with its date of October 1st. Past experience as a long time AT&T customer has been quite positive. They're generally able to ship with a two or three day window. They only change that date if the vendors ship date is delayed by a full week or more. No system is perfect, but AT&T does a pretty good job.

It appears your "Order Status" screen always shows a 3-day window a week after your order date. I ordered 9/6 and it still says estimated shipping date is 9/11-9/13 even though the Note 3 info page says your Note 3 will ship Oct 1.

I'm not w/AT&T,but,it's not unusual for a shipping company to complete the final leg of the delivery via USPS.

Not sure why this happens, perhaps someone in the shipping/delivery business could chime-in & shed some light on the subject. :)

Uhhhh not to be a harbinger of bad news, but didn't the federal government just shut down? Hopefully we don't get too many people caught!

I just checked on the AT&T internet site and see mine will be here on Thursday. I ordered it on Sept. 28th.

Never got an email about shipping. Also the MyAT&T app on my iPhone 5 says its still processing. On my Nexus 7 2013 it won't load as it jumps from the regular page to the mobile page.

Can't wait!!!

Mine shipped too
