Root what ICS Sense ROM are you using?

Cool thanks!

Why do people care about data arrows? You mean the two arrows in the 4G icon that blink? I don't even look at them. My only concern was reading about people getting screen flicker from some of the ROMS. That seems like an issue that could be bad for the device.

the screen flicker in this rom is almost non-existant.

the data arrows are a pet peeve of mine, simply because you dont know if your device is trying to up/download data,or its just sitting there doing nothing  i actually watch them all the time.

i hope we either get a new leak soon that has them fixed,or some enterprising dev gets it figured out!

Lol yeah, kind of funny. On WiFi there are no data arrows...you must go nuts lol.

Nice to hear about the screen flicker not being an issue. Might try out the ROM.

So Scott, that first ROM you listed.....there are two files for download.

I downloaded the ROM file, flashed it, and it did not work.

Do I need to download the .img file as well? What is the order I need to flash these two files?

Thanks for the help.

you do need the PG98IMG file,as it contains the boot image. as you found, the stock kernel doesnt work with ICS

there are a couple different ways to flash the rom and kernel.

what i do:
-place rom on sd card. extract image from PH98IMG and put it into your adb/fastboot file.
-boot to fastboot
-launch recovery
-make backups,wipe,flash rom
-boot to fastboot flash kernel
-reboot

some more specific directions here:

I understand the process since it is the same as when I flashed Amon Ra recovery. Just did what you said, and it works!

Thanks for your help :)

Wish I didnt have to power down the phone and flash the kernal through the PC though. Makes thing much easier to switch between ROMS.

i just tried to nandroid restore back to stock. Did not load up. Is this because I flashed another Kernel when I flashed the ROM? If that is the case, where can I get the stock Kernel back?

that is correct. now you have an ics kernel that wont work with gingerbread

best way to get you old boot image is to transfer the nandroid you made to the PC and then just copy the boot image from it. you can put your sd card into a card reader,or enable usb storage in recovery.

unfortunately, you will need to flash a new kernel EVERY time you want to change it,wether its restoring a backup,or flashing a new rom. :(

I'm running inneffabilis, it is very stable

but no Bluetooth, Are there any Ice Cream Roms with working BT ?

ohh yeah it doesn't have the up/down arrows. ;)

ineffabilis v1.01 had a working bluetooth for me,as did cleanrom ics,and my current one- sense redefined.

i drive for a living and talk prolly 2-3 hours a day,so blue tooth is always one of the first things i check. i wont run a rom without working blue tooth for more than a couple hours. in importance,it ranks even above data arrows! :D

How is the camera on the ICS Roms? With 3 kids running around I find myself using the Rezound camera a lot. I want to make sure I won't be losing anything by switching to ICS.

Is it full 8MP with all the features working?

it takes pics that look fine to me,but i havent taken that many, and im not familiar with all the features,so im not 100% sure on that.

Now THAT'S funny ! Thanks for the laugh.

Who DOESN'T watch the data arrows? Them not working drives me nuts...I watch them all the time too. It's a good indicator whether the site is broken and it's not loading data, or if it is loading but is just taking awhile; i.e., loading large photos.

My wifi is far more reliable than the data connection, if something isn't working on wifi, 9/10 I'm sure it's the site that's not loading and not a data problem.

i should have said. is there any ICS roms that allow bluetooth a2dp (streaming music to your bluetooth)

Bluetooth is sketchy on all the ics roms at the moment. It works when first paired but in order to be able to reconnect you have to reboot I think. The good thing about the ics roms is it will allow infrastructure tethering

yeah ive tried all the ics roms and bluetooth works good, except for the streaming music.
i only wanted that cause i just got a set of jaybirds. and i dont feel like like using gb roms anymore.
