What if the Dec 11th update is not all it is cracked up to be???

one store manager i talked too never heard anything about any updates (Dec), you would think verizon would keep the sales department abreast of what's going on if it was to happen... will see.

I've been lurking here a few days since I got my Droid Nov. 29th. One thing kinda confuses me here... you're saying you'll have to exchange your phone on the 11th, but everything I can find says it's just a software update. Can't your current phone just be updated either by calling that one number (I can't remember what it is anymore) or by taking it in for a quick update? Why would the device need replacing?

the phone number you are refering to is *228 which is your PRL (prefered roaming list) update
Android updates are pushed directly to your phone.
Some people aren't happy with their devices, Im peachy with mine :D

I think the post was confusing. It's a software update that will come to your phone over the air (OTA) and free of charge. It will not be a hardware change. There will be another OTA update in January as well.

You would think so but some of them have no idea on what is going on.

Ah, ok. Thanks for the clarification. So far I'm liking my Droid a lot. No real problems though I did get the bug where the speaker cuts out once.
