What is a good firewall for the Nexus/Android?

What is a good firewall to use on my Nexus? You know, like ZoneAlarm is one of the better ones for pc, looking for something for my android. Something that can help keep people out in public wifi areas. Just a little caution :)

You don't really need a firewall on Android. Unless you're running world-facing servers on your Android device, there is nothing for the public to connect to.

So, if you connect your android device to a public open wifi there is no way anyone can access or hack into anything on your phone?

Not unless you're running some type of world-facing server that is listening for and allowing connections (example: FTP server). Android is based on Linux, which is much more secure than a typical Windows PC.

Thanks for the reply! Just making sure didn't need to run something.

The other side of the coin about firewalls for your Android device would be to allow you to control which apps can access the outside network.

I'm pretty sure that you'd need root access for most of these apps that allow that.

Cheers!
