Root What is a ROM/How to install a ROM

You could do it all through Rom Manager, download that from app market.

click "Download Rom" or something like that. Browse for one you want, then click install it. It will ask if you want to backup, and also if you want to wipe data and cache. I usually say yes to both.

Once you hit submit, it will reboot and do all the work for you. The next time the phone boots it will be your new rom

What do you do if after the reboot, it never actually loads? I am stuck on a contast loop of the opening (I assume).

I'm doing my research on rooting before I take the plunge. I'm scared about the voided warranty mostly but that's not my question for this thread.

Ilike the look of sense, the set up of the home screens, etc. Are there time available that allow me to keep the look and feel of sense?

If I decide to root, I will only do so after learning all of this and even then I will recruit someone who knows more about this stuff. But between the increased bloatware and the constant disk low on space notifications with no real solution, rooting sounds like a better option.

There are ROMs with Sense and ROMs without. I'm currently using Skyraider 3.5 as my ROM and it has Sense. It's very close to the stock ROM on the Incredible. If you like Sense I highly suggest it.
