What is better...sprint navigation or google maps?

Out of the two, I prefer Google Maps. It is easy to switch from Navigation Mode to Map mode so I can see the path ahead and add the traffic layer. When I first got my Epic, I used Sprint Navigation, but it took to long to load so I started using Google Maps and have been since.

It's been a while since I have used Sprint Nav and it worked okay. It got me to my destination. I don't know how much it has changed since then.

If it hasn't changed much, Google Nav is much more robust giving you many different options, layouts, and different routes. I will say that it has its downfalls though. My new job has me driving to a new location every weekend. I'm completely reliant on my phone as a navigation tool to get me where I need. The majority of the time, the device/software (Epic/Google Nav) is spot on but it has had some absolutely bonkers moments. It sometimes completely decides to change routes midway through a trip or puts you on a crazy trail that has you going far away from your destination before actually reaching your destination.

One night it even put me through 4 unnecessary tolls and I finally gave up and decided to rely on signs which thankfully worked. It was extremely stressful trying to navigate in a completely new area at night on roads where the limit is usually at least 45-55.

Still, like I said, I feel Google Nav is the better of the two but feel free try both and decide for yourself.

I generally use Google Navigation. I like the fact I can star a location in Google Maps on my desktop, then pull up Google Navigation and pull up the same starred locations to drive to.

just easier to use, more accurate in my experience.

also more options

i would suggest everyone use it.

Forgive for my reason, but it's certainly valid:

I use Google Navigation because it's FREE.

I am not willing to pay a monthly fee to have the privelege of using an only-slightly-better navigator.

FREE FTW.

That is not a bad reason at all! However, for me, Sprint Navigation is included in my plan. I don't pay extra for it.

Oh, so Sprint Navigation is not free? I did not know that haha. Oh well, I am using Google Maps anyway.:p

I use Google more than I use Sprint Nav (Telenav). The Sprint app is also free with my plan on my Epic (The Simply Everything plans include it), although I would have to pay to use it on my Tab. I think the Google app is far more informative, showing in most cases, the exact message I'll see on the signs at my exit.

While I like the features of Google, I wish the voice was easier to understand. This is one feature where the Sprint app is better than Google Nav. I know I can purchase/download other voices, but I'm having problems completing the purchase in the Market...never purchased a paid app until now, and I keep getting an error message.

Combine Sprint's clear voice, and Google's robust (and free) features, and you'll have the perfect app.

Truer words have never been spoken.
