Root What is dalvik cache wipe?

I have seen this more recently in several threads, but I have yet to actually encounter this. So, can someone explain to me what the heck this is?

Its kinda like windows prefetching of files where programs are somewhat preloaded into memory so they are readily available and start faster when activated. Another way of looking at it might be how your browser caches webpages and when you return to one that originally took a moment to load the first time, the return visit loads much faster.

Ok, so the next question...where do you wipe this at? I recently installed a new rom and did not see that option in CWR.

when you first get into CWrecovery scroll down to the bottom of the first list and you will see advanced. select it and you will find the option you are looking for.
