Root what is death ray ?

I see there is a setting for Death Ray on my phone after flashing. What is it? What does it do? How do i make it work?

Death ray is a mod for screen brightness and flash brightness, or one of the two. I find both plenty bright, and they recommend you dont use it because its bad for the phone.

just a led flashlight mode (bright as hell one). tried it once, whole room lit up, phone froze (with death ray engaged) and started to get hot and it was the one time I had trouble getting the back cover off for a battery pull. lesson learned. FYI it was included as an option in the power control settings for the notification bar widgets in the ROM I'm using (perfect storm). I've seen the warnings not to use it but learned the hard way. supposedly your kernel voltage ect has to be compatible for it to work right (works with some ROMS/Phones).

Careful when using death ray. My phone froze, but the light stayed on. I had to do a battery pull. Then I changed the Power Control Widget back to normal flashlight mode.
