What is it FB Chat Heads?

It lags on my phone for some reason. I open up chat heads, and while typing to someone, it just lags. The keyboard can't keep up with what I'm typing. And it's just slow. Any other app works great. I cleared the cache for the app but still. Idk what else to do.

chat heads is what facebook messenger uses on your droid. not sure why yours is lagging tho....sorry

Mine was too so I disabled it. In the messenger settings!

Its a cool feature but I have stopped using messenger all together. I prefer to just check it thru my browser!

Close background apps. It slows messenger down. Close web browser too

What you describe is exactly why I will not use any social media to write a message.

The reason is, the character you see on your screen is not displayed from your keyboard; rather it is an echo from the social media's server "acknowledging that keystroke".

Something is slowing down the transmit/receive path. And the other solutions above all have an effect on that. The more background data that is going on, the slower each of the "active apps" will be because they all have to share the same available bandwidth.

I personally do NOT allow any background data at all. I only want the active app I am using to have access to the internet.

In fact, when my screen is locked, so is the internet on my phone. No data from any source is allowed; no wifi, no isp data. nada...
