What is Package Installer?

I just found it under my recent apps. I never saw it before and I want to be sure it's nothing I need to worry about. Thanks in advance!

LOL, the package installer is just the part of Android that installs application packages (.apk files), i.e., apps, on your device.

The package installer itself is an app (/system/app/PackageInstaller.apk).
