Root What is R5?

I've seen it mentioned in a few places and in a few ROM titles (eg, Leedroid). Is it an alternative bootloader to CWM and RA? That's my assumption so far. What's different about it and how is it installed?

I tried installing a Leedroid ROM with R5 in the title and it got stuck in a bootloop, but reverting to one of the older ROMs without R5 in the title worked for me.

No, I don't think it's a recovery (which is what CWM and Amon Ra are - bootloader is something else). I would have assumed it was just some notation of Lee's, though it's usually MoDaCo roms that use "Rn" as an identifier. Can't see anything in the thread to suggest it has a particular meaning, though I guess it refers to some element of the rom.
