I want to go out and buy one today. Has anyone been using one that they love and swear by? Good volume, quality, lack of echo, etc...

I hate bluetooth headsets but I can almost love my Plantronics 975. Its tiny but it can be linked while charging and it has a small cradle that has its own battery to charge with. The result is I can talk all day by just dropping it on the cradle between calls.
 
If you haven't bought a headset yet, you should check out headsets by a company called maverick lifestyle (Nica Sunrise Bluetooth headsets - by Maverick). My girlfriend has an Icon and I really can't wear it for more than 20 minutes. The inside of my ears start hurting after that. She doesn't have this problem, but I guess her ears are shaped differently.

I got Maverick's Nica Sunrise last week and I'm pretty happy with it. It works just fine, but the best part is I can actually wear it! I'm trying to convince my girlfriend to get one now :p.
 
Plantronics 975 does not support A2DP so if you want to hear navigation, call announcements, music and such through bluetooth, dont get this head set. If all you want it for is to make calls then it should be ok. jawbone icon and blue ant q1 support A2dp. I have the Icon and it works great. Could be a little louder though
 
I used to have a Jawbone 2, which I liked a lot and was very good, but it wasn't as great as reviews had mentioned. I just recently bought a Jawbone Icon and it is 10 X's better IMHO.

Bought it from MobileCityOnline because they were having a sale on all bluetooth headsets (free shipping and I think a small percentage off). Came out to around $60 from what I remember. It's still only $64.99 (very good compared to a lot of other places), and shipping isn't a lot at all

It does state that it's sent in "bulk packaging" which leads me to believe it doesn't come in the original container, but who cares for that price drop.
 
I also upgraded from the Jawbone 2 to the ICON. It announces the number calling and has voice dialing, plus A2DP, so I can listen to music (in mono) with it. It has great sound and my wife says that the sound quality to people I speak with is excellent, with great noise reduction. I adopted early at $95, but I don't regret it.
I got my Jawbone 2 in bulk package for $39.00 too. Everything comes with it.
 
My wife surprised me by getting the Acoustic Research ARWH1 headset. This thing is quite different. It's a little controller box that you pair with your phone. You can plug any headset you want into the controller box, which has a built-in mic so you can use it to make phone calls. It comes with a pair of earbuds that are okay. The box will display caller ID and approximately 30 status messages. You can pair it to 2 devices at the same time. For me this unit is perfect, as I use my EVO for listening to music while I work and walk. The headset Jack on the EVO is not very sturdy, so this takes care of that problem; the only time I use the headset jack now is when I put the EVO into FM radio mode.

Yeah, me too. That's how I got my Jawbone 2 before. When I converted to the ICON, I didn't think it would be a huge difference at all. I would've jumped on the 1saleaday deal, had I not already purchased one through mobilecityonline for 20 bux more.

Nontheless, I'm so happy that the ICON has A2DP! I had to load up a program on my WinMO phones, in order to get A2DP on my bluetooth. When I moved over to Android, I was a little disappointed that there wasn't an app for it, but the ICON brought me back to what was familiar on WinMO and is so convenient (especially for California folks that have to go handsfree while driving).
 
I was thinking about getting one awhile back... I'm just not sure how well they work.

This one on newegg is out of stock (for now) but it's the one I was probably going to get, and would be the one I'd get if I ever did think about it again.

Is the Jawbone 2 any different than the prime? I haven't spent too much time looking...but on first glance...they almost seem like the same headset.

Also....
These guys are apparently giving away free headsets on facebook. Right now there aren't too many people on there either....so maybe the odds are pretty good (already got one...pretty good....certainly wouldnt turn down a free extra one)

If you're going to go with Jawbone, I highly recommend the ICON (skip the prime or the jawbone 2).

The Jawbone ICON has the capability of A2DP, even though it's a mono headset. On Windows Mobile phones there was an app that allowed you to have A2DP (all audio going to the headset), but on Android I couldn't find one. I upgraded from the Jawbone 2 to the ICON and haven't looked back. Best decision I've made.

Even better, you can customize for certain functions on the jawbone website, which is great to set it up for your particular needs.
 
Here's one for ya! It's surprisingly clear for only $30. The design actually seems to amplify the sound slightly - perhaps that's why it was originally used?

Plus, if you use 'Old Phone' for the ringer, it'll make people really take an interest in your phone.

Follow the link. You'll at least get a giggle - even if you don't buy one.

(I bought one for a few laughs... and still use it. As I said, it's a decent BT 'set.)

That's awesome. I'm gonna get one, just to carry around my house...LOL.
 
I have two. The plantronics 975 and the Moto S9HD. Each has their purpose. The 975 has great call quality and a little dock that can charge the headset while its on (I use my cell phone a lot during the day for business) so you can get a whole day out of it easy. Then when I run I switch to the S9s because they support media audio.
 
Jawbone Icon for a mono set. It works, it's small, and it's A2DP capable (but I don't use it for music - prefer a wired set for that). Used to be a fan of BlueAnt, but my last 3 BA headsets have all broken at about the 1 year mark - not acceptable!

Good thing I went with the Icon (primarily based on the sale mobilecity was having), cuz I was on the verge of converting to BlueAnt.
